Metro Atlanta mall closes due to high electric bill

Town Center At Cobb’s power was disconnected by Georgia Power due to a “highly delinquent” power bill

Kennesaw, Georgia – It appears that everyday regular people are not the ones that are experiencing hard times. The metropolitan Atlanta mall, Town Center At Cobb, had to cut operating hours Tuesday morning after their lights were cut off during business hours.

Georgia Power has released a statement sharing, “Unfortunately, any customer that is highly delinquent in paying their bills ultimately has a negative impact for all of our customers,” the statement said. “While we will continue to work with the customer and are hopeful a payment will be made, we can no longer continue to extend the grace period.”

On Town Center At Cobb’s website, on the top of the page there is a message that states, “We will reopen at 11am, Wednesday, January 29. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you soon.”

It is not clear how far Town Center At Cobb was behind nor how much the bill for the power to be cut off was. Town Center At Cobb was purchased by Kohan Retail in 2023. Kohan Retail is an investment group based in New York City that owns several retail investments across the country.
