New York City, New York – It appears the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight might be updating their résumés. Traditional cable providers continue to face mounting challenges as streaming companies expand their subscriber bases while cable viewership steadily declines.
According to Reuters, Paramount Global has delivered another blow to its workforce, issuing an internal memo indicating the company may slash approximately 3.5% of its international staff. This latest round of cuts comes on the heels of August’s bombshell announcement when Paramount Global revealed plans to axe 15% of its entire workforce.
The Paramout Global is the media giant behind iconic brands like BET, VH1, MTV, DC Comics, and Paramount Pictures is clearly feeling the heat as audiences increasingly cut the cord in favor of streaming alternatives.
As of December 31, 2024, Paramount Global employed 18,600 people worldwide—a number that continues to shrink as the company fights to stay relevant in an increasingly crowded entertainment landscape.
