High-Frequency Transit and Rapid Summerhill Connect the Region Starting April 18
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, MARTA officially launches the NextGen Bus Network and the region’s first-ever Bus Rapid Transit line, MARTA Rapid Summerhill. This historic “generational reset” replaces the legacy 1970s-era map with a modern system that triples high-frequency corridors and provides consistent seven-day service. By prioritizing directness and dedicated lanes for the new electric Rapid Line A, the overhaul significantly expands 60-minute transit access to 31% more hospitals and 22% more jobs across the metro area.
