National Spotlight: The Main Stage

SXSW 2026 (Austin, TX): The 40th anniversary of South by Southwest officially kicks off Friday, March 13 (with early Innovation tracks starting March 12). This year features a “village” layout across downtown Austin while the convention center is rebuilt.
National Pi Day (March 14): Celebrated nationwide. Keep an eye out for $3.14 deals at pizza and pie shops.
Georgia Bureau: The “Beltline” Briefing
Metro Atlanta is turning green this weekend as St. Patrick’s Day festivities kick off early.
- The 141st Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Saturday, March 14, at 12:00 PM. Steps off from Colony Square (15th and Peachtree) and heads south to 5th Street. Expect floats, bagpipes, and the 2026 Hibernian Queen.
- Luck of the Forum (Peachtree Corners): Saturday, March 14, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A family-friendly festival at The Forum featuring Irish dancers and live music.
- Atlanta Science Festival: Running March 11–21. This weekend features the “Annual Orchid Show” at the Botanical Gardens.
- Find the Leprechaun (Little 5 Points): Sunday, March 15, at 1:00 PM. A neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt through the murals and shops of L5P.
California Bureau: The “Coastline” Report
The Bay Area is celebrating major anniversaries and scientific milestones.
- 175th San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival: Saturday, March 14, at 11:30 AM. Starting at 2nd and Market, this year’s theme is “Happy 250th, America,” celebrating both the parade’s history and the nation’s upcoming Semiquincentennial.
- Pi Day at The Exploratorium (SF): Saturday, March 14. The museum where Pi Day was invented hosts its annual “Pi Procession” and free pie for guests.
- Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Festival (East Bay): March 14–15. One of the largest festivals in the country, featuring a 5K Shamrock Run and over 200 vendors.
- La Belle et la Bête (Berkeley): March 13–14 at Zellerbach Hall. A multimedia opera experience by Philip Glass, performed live alongside Jean Cocteau’s classic film.
