First WNBA Championship in franchise history
New York City, New York – In a best of five series, the ladies of New York Liberty won their first WNBA Championship against the Minnesota Lynx 3-2. The Liberty has three conference championships and has played in the WNBA finals six times.
Jonquel Jones was MVP of the championship series.
