Hollywood Stars Sign Open Letter Against Merger

Paramount - Warner Bros - Discovery

JJ Abrams and Joaquin Phoenix Oppose Paramount-WBD Deal

An A-list coalition of Hollywood power players has taken a public stand against the proposed $111 billion mega-merger between media titans Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery.

More than 1,000 film and television creatives—including directors JJ Abrams and Denis Villeneuve, alongside actors Joaquin Phoenix and Kristen Stewart—have signed an open letter published today, demanding that regulators block the deal.

The coalition argues that reducing the number of major studios would decimate industry competition, leading to widespread job losses, fewer creative opportunities, and less choice for audiences.
