Pardoned January 6th rioter is shot to death by an officer after he threatened to shoot himself during a routine traffic stop
Matthew Huttle was a habitual traffic offender who was driving on a suspended license and couldn’t accept the thought of going to jail
Jasper County, Indiana—Matthew Huttle said he was just keeping up with traffic when he was pulled over for speeding; the officer clocked him at 70 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Upon reaching for his license and registration, Huttle gave the officer a forewarning that his license is suspended and he is also a “January 6th defendant” waiting on his pardon. Huttle mentioned that he was not looking for any trouble, hinting that he can’t afford to face any additional legal problems.
After running his license, the officer discovered that Huttle had had several traffic infractions, and he had no other choice but to take Huttle in, but Huttle refused.
