Stone has been reported to have been involved in a vehicle collision in Alabama
Montgomery, Alabama – TMZ is reporting with verification from Stone’s rep, Deborah R. Champagne, that she was involved in a collision after leaving a performance in Montgomery. No other information has been supplied at this time.
Stone was a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter born in Columbia, South Carolina, as Laverne Brown on December 18, 1961. Stone began her career as a member of the trio, Sequence, and recorded the 1979 hit, “Funk You Up,” on Sugar Hill Records. The song became one of the first songs by a female Hip Hop group.
Over the years stone moved on to be involved in many other forms of performing arts such as singing, songwriting and acting. Stone leaves behind two adult children.
