Anita Pointer, one-fourth of the popular Pointers Sisters dies at 74
Anita Pointer was a part of a popular girl group known for their 70s and 80s hits
Born in Oakland, California, the Pointer Sisters: Anita, Bonnie, Ruth and June gained famed international fame during the 70s and 80s for their hits such as “Fire (1979),” “Slow Hand (1981),” “Jump (1984),” “He’s So Shy (1980)” and Neutron Dance, the billboard hit to Eddie Murphy’s 1985 blockbuster film, Beverly Hills Cop.
Anita was the last remaining original member of the Pointer Sisters. Sisters, Bonnie, died in June of 2020, and June, died in April of 2006.
Ruth Pointer continues to perform today as a Pointer Sister with her daughter, Issa Pointer, and granddaughter, Sadako Pointer.
